so me and my boyfriend fooled around about two weeks ago without using a condom. and then in the beginning of the month i got my period. i've heard people say you can get your period and still be pregnant. but i wasn't sure. i haven't been feeling any different. but i do feel like my stomach has gotten bigger. maybe i'm just bloated or i just gained weight but idk. i talked to my boyfriend and we talked about everything and what we would do if i was pregnant. he's going to buy a pregnancy test for me today so i can take it. can i take the test when i have my period? and is it possible that i am pregnant?

If you had a normal period after you had unprotected sex, then it's safe to assume you are NOT pregnant, really. You just cannot be pregnant and have a period at the same time. What you likely heard was simply people mistaking implantation bleeding for a very light period when really those two things are really different.

So really, I wouldn't even suggest taking a pregnancy test given you can't be pregnant but if that can help you ease your worries, then by all means do that.

You did have a STIs risk by having unprotected sex so if you and your partner haven't been tested twice 6 months apart before or haven't remained monogamous since, then you both should schedule an appointment to get tested.
