I recieved my meningetis shot yesterday and maybe an hour later I started to develope a fever which reached 102.3 but broke at 3am. This didin't bother me b/c I knew it was a symptom of recieving the vaccine. However, I did start to develope a sore throat that has last all day today and still feels alittle sore. If I drink or eat it doesn't hurt, but I noticed sometimes if I don't swallow occansionally it gets dry and hurts. Any suggestions to help this?

Warm water with honey and lemon juice is pretty nice for a sore throat, or some cough drops. If my throat is really sore I'll take some paracetemol or asprin to dull the pain, which tends to work pretty well.

My favourite sore throat food is Dutch salted licorice, but most people find that disgusting. [Smile]

I'm a fan of hard candies (mostly those little white and red-swirled peppermints) for a sore throat. They keep your throat moist, I find the tingle of the peppermint soothing, and a bonus is if you get nauseous/an upset tummy from phlegm runnage (which always causes my sore throats), it helps your tummy a lot, too. Something that I find to work almost right away, though it may not taste great, is gargling with warm water and salt. I get sore throats all the time, and this is the only thing that keeps my throat from keeping me awake.
