since monday when my boyfriend and i are about to have sex, we can't because i'm not getting aroused enough even though i really want to have sex. we had sex on thursday but it was very difficult because i was only slightly "wet". i don't understand what's wrong with me. there is no itching or discomfort when i'm not having sex. is this natural?

the week before i had my period. i'm on birth control. do any of these things have something to do with it? on sunday night we successfully had sex, maybe that has something to do with it?

i know i can use lube, but i'd still like to know what is going on.

Birth control can cause discharges to thicken, so that definately may be why you're feeling dryer than normal.

But like you said, the solution is pretty basic- just grab some lube! [Smile]

Probably not (per the dehydration). We all go through a constant arousal cycle: sometimes, we just have a harder time becoming aroused than others.

Add that to what Leabug says, and what you're experiencing is very normal.
