Has this ever happened to you girls? My mother and I are very close. I think it's because of this that we always get our periods at the same time. This isn't the first time I hear about this. Several of my female classmates have their periods at the same time as their best friends, and even my gynecologist said that he's had a few patients say that to him.

The strange thing is, my mother is starting menopause. She hasn't gotten her period. And I am also late! And I can pretty much assure you that I'm not pregnant. The flow charts on this site said that my risk is "no to very low". My gynecologist told me that i'm still within "normal" range (30 days since my last period started, even if I usually get it between 21-28 days), to give it another week.

What do you all think?

I do agree that women who are close can be in sync with each other. My mother gets coldsores when I'm on my period, though she's well past menopause at this point.

Even in regular women, a cycle can be a bit off. Your period will show eventually, but it wouldn't be unheard of to skip a cycle entirely.

yeah, synching is pretty common. its because of pheromones (i think). they're special hormones that we give off, i think they're linked to sexual attraction as well. if someone else is more informed on this, please share. i might be wrong.
