Hi, I've heard that the hymen is a ring around the inside/kind of outside vaginal opening. I always thought mine was sitll intact, but now i think differently because All I feel when i use my finger is just across the bottom of the opening not all the way around its just a little flap of skin on the bottom. Is it still intact, or has it been worn down? and Ive used tampons for 2 years now so maybe that has worn it down too? Thanks

Few women have a fully intact (or imperforate) hymen, in that they wouldn't be able to menstruate if they did. Most women have instead a perforated hymen, which is a hymen that already has a hole (or more than one hole) in it. My guess would be that the flap of skin that you feel when putting in tampons and the like IS your hymen, but any good doctor could tell you for sure.

Why not have a look at what Hanne Blank says about the hymen in this article, and that should help: 20 Questions
