My discharge used to smell strong and had a thick texture. I didn't really liked this so I never complained when it changed to thin liquid and the smell was generally gone.
But then, after I finished my period, the discharge went back to that unpleasent texture and smell.
Any idea of what happened to make this change? Is there any way I can make the discharge more pleasent?

Usually after menses women have a discharge for a couple of days, and sometimes it may happen before you get your period.

But the strong odor, I don't know, sometimes it may smell a little gross (because your period is old nutrients and blood and that doesn't always smell so nice)

But is it like a strong dead fish kind of smell?

How long has this been going on?
Are you sexually active?
Have you been tested?

If you are sexually active, you should see your OB/GYN, it may be an infection. And by the "bad smell" I forgot what it's called, but there is a infection that does smell very bad and can be fixed with a set of pills taken over a week (I believe).
That little article may be of use to you too.

The strong smell and thick texture, while they could just be normal for your body, could also be a sign of infection. You also may have had a minor infection that cleared up a bit then came back after your period. We can't say for sure. I'd chedual an appointment with your gynecologist and explain it to her and have her check it out, so if it is an infection you can get it treated.
