I've noticed something quite strange over the past couple of days. When I have a particularly full bladder, emptying it becomes very difficult. This morning, for example, I woke up needing to use the bathroom, but could only manage a VERY small trickle! It was *so* small, it could barely be called a stream and it would subsequently stop, and I would have to clench and release my pelvic floor muscles in an attempt to get the flow restarted again.

This has happened twice now, and apart from being totally frustrating, it's unusual for me. Of course, I'll seek to go to the bathroom before my bladder gets too full, but sometimes that's unavoidable (such as when I'm sleeping).

Anyone else experienced this? I'll be making an appointment to see my GP soon so I guess I'll throw that question in...

just so that you don't think we're ignoring you, oh man, that's a toughie and I'm sorry but I have no idea. Sounds like a really bad UTI, but not quite. i'm sure your doctor can offer a better explanation.

sour, that is a classic UTI symptom (look up "bladder infections," "UTI," or "urinary tract infections" in search and you'll hear all about it).

other UTI signs to observe: burning, severe abdominal discomfort during urination, cloudy or pinkish urine, increased frequency of urination

if you suspect UTI, you *must* call your doctor and get it treated. leaving it untreated can lead to kidney infections or potentially fatal kidney failure.

just a bit of advice, if you have or may have a UTI, GO TO THE DOCTOR, you dont want a kidney infection. trust me. had one the beginning of july. temperature going from 104 to 97 in an hour....3 days in the hospital...its not a fun thing AT ALL. so get it checked out, cuz i ignored the weird stuff that was going on with me, just blowing it off and not realize it could be something, so if i were you, its def. better to be safe then sorry. wish i had been.

GG - I appreciate your replying even though you weren't sure what it is, that's cool

I don't have any other symptoms, so I'm guessing it's an odd physiological consequence of having a really full bladder, rather than a UTI. But rest assured I'll go ahead and ask regardless.

Thanks again, I appreciate it.

Hey- I've had your problem before, and its no fun. I absolutly hate going to the doctor for this type of thing, but still I went, and if your still having a problem you need to also. I've also found that taking Cranberry Extract helps with any type of uti or bladder/kidney infection. You can usually find it at a vitamin store. Hope I helped you out some
