Hi there...I'm the KittenGoddess, and I'm a fanfic-aholic.

If you're wondering what this mysterious fanfiction is, it's where writers take pre-established characters and situations(ie. from TV, movies, books, etc), and write stories based on them. There are all kinds of sub-catagories of fanfic, and it comes in all kinds of ratings, from G (suitable for the kiddies) to NC-17 (really not suitable for any of us, but we read it anyway ).

Some of us read it, some of us write it (*blushes and raises her hand for both* ). So, for all the fans of fanfiction in the audience...what do you read? What's your favorite? Do you write, and if so, do you mind sharing where you post?

I've never read any fanfic recently. I mean, I used to, but I just haven't had the time. I actually love reading it- people tend to make up some pretty interesting stories. Can't say that I've ever written any, though, although I've thought about it.

I've read a bit of Daria fan fiction, but I never got into writing it. Generally, I found them unbelievable- not true to my perceptions of the characters, but some few of the were fairly decent.

What do you actually write the fanfics for?

I think maybe just because then they can do things you wish the characters could do. I mean, who doesn't want to see Mulder and Scully get it on? But we all know that's never going to happen. But somebody else can write it, and if you have any imagination, well, then you can see it happen. lol, Everybody wins!

hmmm.. the only fan-fiction I can read is some people's continuation stories from The Earths Children series (Clan of the Cave Bear, Valley of Horses etc).. and that's only because the fifth and sixth books in the 6 book series are taking too long! It's been quite a few years since Book 4 was released.. and I got so sick of waiting for the 5th that I started reading some of the online fan-fiction

Some of it is OK, some of it is just dead wrong!

I confess. I used to belong to a now-defunct Beatles smut list. But honestly, I just couldn't stomach the sort of stories where 'George passionately sodomized her with his throbbingly handsome --' you get the point.

I'm guilty of writting naughty Justin Timberlake fanfic I even published it online. I had fans

I love reading fanfic. I've only read Hanson fanfic (I was obessed in 6th grade) and N Sync fanfic.

Now I'm going to look for Matchbox 20 fanfic. Rob Thomas is sooo sexy! I saw them in concert with Life House and it was wonderful. I feel in love with Rob. I think I'll go write some sexy story about him now...

Guilty.

It's Buffy fanfic. I've only recently come across this, and it certainly helps to keep me from reading my episode guide in advance.

Buffy & Spike storyline are lovely....And the ones with Buffy & Angel circled around the episode "I will remember you". But I only consume, and don't write. And sometimes I find I'm still not an insider enough to get it all.

But it's can be fun and a fine waste of time.

Alrighty ... it's all about X-Files fanfic. But I haven't had the time/desire to read any. Since Mulders gone ... It's sorta of pathetic, though, I have a folder in my bookmarks [i]just[i/] for fanfic. Um ... I think it was laughs_wisely that was asking for Leyla Harrison's personal archive and that can be found here: http://www.geocities.com/Area51/Vault/1377/fanfic.html

And what's ever sadder is that I have a folder in my bookmarks for specific authors pages. Oh well. I'm obsessed. What can I say?

Well you're not the only one who's got bookmarks for fanfic. I'll admit to having a rather extensive collection of them too.

I think I've actually started reading more fanfic since Mulder's been gone, lol. Although I haven't been inspired to write lately at all. The few that I have actually posted quite a while back can be found at Gossamer under my pen name (harper731). Don't worry, mine's all clean enough for the kiddies...so far . One of them actually was archived at another site, but I think the site is gone now.

Anyway...I forget what point I was trying to make here, lol. I think I'm tired maybe!

Mulder is gone????!!!!

People, could you please talk cryptic about that sort of thing?...there might be some around who are a few seasons behind.....oh dear....like me.
How can there be X-Files without Mulder?

I wonder. And fear the season when that's going to happen.

I love reading all the fanfiction at fanficion.net .. some of it is REALLY bad but the majority of it is excellent, like author material.

Guilty as charged.

Me, the wannabe MSR writer and devout NC-17 slash & MSR reader. So I'm not old enough. Sue me. It's the only thing that pushes my buttons (in a good way).

I like the X-Files romantics archive, gossamer, and fanfiction.net. I have some fic in all those archives.

my homepage has some too: http://www.geocities.com/evildana/

just follow the links :0)

HOLY CRAP!

Just found this thread.

My sexual awakening pretty much started with MSR erotic fanfic. I had a couple of friends who sent me stuff [mostly romance] and then I got on a mailing list and read smut 'till my eyes [and fingers] were tired.

This was freshman year in high school. I had disks filled to the brim with all sorts of naughty fanfic. I never really got into slash, but I read it out of curiosity.

I tried writing it over the next three years and actually published a really short, dorky story on Gossamer co-written by my friend M. We were so friggin' excited to see our names in print.

Favorite story ever, I think was a Casablanca/X-Files Xover. It was fabulously written and really complex.

Woo! I totally didn't remember this and now it all comes back to me.

We X-philes should rock on with our bad selves.

I write a lot of Fanfic based on Buffy, and I've added a character to it and everything. I haven't posted any of it online, but I did send one off to Joss Whendon(he sent it back, they don't assept scripts ) I once read a porno version of Buffy mixed with the rocky horror show. Don't ask.

I'm an addict. I love slash (it's almost all I ever read anymore, the only het I read is Tmaora Pierce, becaus there is such a lack of slash in tortall. i don't get it...there are so many queer undertones....) I usually end up reading Harry Potter (yes, I admit it), Buffy (I admit that too) or velevt Goldmine (Oh come on, there's only one het pair in that entire movie!) Anyway, I'm obsessed. It way to much of a wimp to post any of my own fics though.

I must confess, I'm a fanfic read/writer too. I mostly stick to Harry Potter, though.
