I read one of your articles and it said "preferably NOT spermicidal" condoms. I was wondering why not? Is it because one might be allergic or what? -Willa IP: Logged |

yes, allergies are a concern, but there are bigger fish to fry. Studies conducted in Africa and Asia have shown that spermicide can cause microfissures (tiny little cuts and tears) in the lining of the vagina. These tiny cuts and tears are the perfect gateway for sexually transmitted infections. So yes, spermicide can INCREASE a woman's susceptibility to infection by agents like HIV. If you use a condom correctly, it will trap the sperm such that spermicide will not even be necessary. ------------------ IP: Logged |
