What different kinds of lubricant would you suggest using? I have one bottle that someone gave me, but it is pretty sticky. It looks like the kind you buy at Spencer's Gifts. I just wanted some ideas on better kinds to buy. thank you for your time. IP: Logged |

Hi Sunshine,
Even though it's the thicker variety of lube from that manufacturer (they also have a line called "light love"), it's really nice and slippery and lasts a very long time. Totally non-sticky & non-smelly. Just divine. (and I'll move this thread to our Safer Sex forum, okay?) ------------------ "We must become the change we want to see." IP: Logged |

I'm keen on Astroglide. Unlike KY, it doesn't have a bitter flavor. Astroglide is runny and gets stickky less quickly than the other brands I've tried. Also, I would advise against buying from Spencers. They're a novelty shop, so their products may have been on a the shelf for a very long time. They also have a limited selection. On top of that, they're *expensive* Go to your local drug store or KMart and see if they have any lubricants first. You may be surprised at your findings. ------------------ IP: Logged |

they don't have a great selection of products at my kmart...no astroglide...however i did see that they have it at a rite aid close by. kmart is cheap tho. 4 bucks for a 12 variety lifestyles pack. question : everyone here is quite down on Trojans (for their breakage rates, correct?)...is anyone concerned about the popularity/advertisements/range of products that makes them seem like the best? -justine ------------------ IP: Logged |

Actually, a few of us were talking about whether or not we should act so down on Trojans and so promoting the brands we like. But, IMO we should. Because Trojan is the only brand I've ever seen advertised, and if I had never found scarleteen I know I'd buy trojans. I bought my friends some condoms and she requested trojans. I told her no no no and told her about how they're lower quality, but she had no idea becase she just figured it was the best since they advertised the most. ![]() ------------------ "Just say no" fights teen pregnancy the way "hey, cheer up" fights manic depression. well, as far as I remember I've never EVER seen a Trojan commercial on tv, neither on mags. The only brands I remember seeing is Durex/Ramses and Lifestyle On my first condom buy (about 2 wks ago) I bought Durex and got Trojan samples. I must say that Trojan don't seem bad but since you're the "experienced" on that, maybe you're right. ------------------ Anne Frank to her journal IP: Logged |

btw, where do you people buy Astroglide ? I don't remember seeing that where I've been. Although I must confess I haven't spend too much time looking for lube. The only one I saw was some condom brand (don't remember which) lube that was at 10$CDN (about 15$US) David ------------------ Anne Frank to her journal IP: Logged |

If you guys can't find Astroglide in the condom area of the store, try going to the feminine hygiene products aisle. At my local grocery stores, Astroglide is usually sitting by the tampons, douches, or pamprin/midol/cramp-relieving drugs. IP: Logged |

in the states, trojans run commericials. they're quite silly actually. ***** then you hear a southern sounding man and woman talking about having sex...using innuendo and noises and such...hay in a barn moving around... then! dun dun dun! TROJAN MANN!!!! or something like that. they are really silly. IP: Logged |

I'm really fond of Liquid Silk, which I've only been able to find at sex shops or ordered online from places that sell sex toys. (I realize that if you're under 18, this might be a problem.) Astroglide didn't do much for me, but I have seen it available at Walmart, Target, and KMart in the US. Erin IP: Logged |

I use lickety lube for masturbation and I've never used lube during intercourse. I have a question about lifestyle condoms and sheik condoms, though. I have never seen kimono or the others this site recommends, but the planned parenting offices here give out lifestyles. I was wandering if they are as affective? IP: Logged |

Oh man, my fiance and I just tried liquid silk. It is the best lube on the planet - creamy like a lotion, as opposed to a more gelatinous texture (such as KY Jelly) it is soooooo slippery, but feels really natural. Added bonus? It doesn't get really cold, like the "jelly" kinds. It just sorta stays room temperature and that makes for comfort, avoiding the "lube jolt" (when your partner forgets to blow on the lube to warm it before application, and it feels like it's about 40 degrees when it hits you - yikes) which can occur with jelly-like lubes. It's not cheap (8.5 oz for about $15) but if you want a superb lube, this is it. IP: Logged |

I've checked out the chemist, and the only kinds of lube they sell are saturn personal lube and KY jelly. Could anyone tell me which is better, or where I might find astroglide? Hugs & Scully, IP: Logged |

Hi Winnie, well, I am no fan of either the Saturn lube nor KY jelly, but if I had to choose between the two of them, I'd opt for the Saturn (just getting out my bottle for a quick reminder as to what it feels like). To me, KY Jelly (I haven't tried liquid, it's supposed to be better) smells a lot like the stuff docs use during ultrasound examinations, and I don't like the very jello-like texture. As to Astroglide in Oz: Beppie, what's the final stand on that? Is that available somewhere? ------------------ "Through repetition the magic will be forced to rise." IP: Logged |
