I was reading some of your Q&A's about performing oral sex to a female and I was wondering: What is a dental dam and a plastic wrap? How are they used and how do they help oral sex? Thanks

Well, plastic wrap is just the stuff you buy in the grocery store to cover your food with...think Saran Wrap, or Glad Wrap, or whatever it is that your local store may carry. You know...you put it over the fruit salad to keep it from spilling out in the car on the way to grandma's house for Christmas dinner, or whatever. Anyway...dental dams are thin sheets of latex. These are not really used to "help" oral sex, you use them to prevent the spread of STD's. Basically you're going to use a piece large enough to cover her entire genital area and then hold down the edges. This will allow you to give oral sex safely through a barrier which will prevent STD's from being spread. The concept is the same as having a guy wear a condom when he's having oral sex preformed on him. Hope that answered your question! ~KittenGoddess ------------------ IP: Logged |

Dental Dams come in different sizes and also with flavors (but not in as many as condoms, as dams weren't *invented* as a safer sex product). IMO it's a little tricky to use them at first (might make you wish your partner had a third and forth hand to hold on to the dam) but once you're comfy with them and if you use lube on the inside (the body side, I mean), it feels pretty good. And it gives you the fabulous feeling that you're minimizing your risk of getting or transfering an STD. Which is the best, isn't it? ------------------ IP: Logged |

Just a footnote - if you happen to have no Saran Wrap or a dental dam at hand when you want to perform oral sex, you can just as well use an (of course unused) condom that you cut open. ------------------ IP: Logged |
