I was just curious if anyone else has this problem. I tend to get acne on a lot of parts of my body. When i buyan acne product it works well at first, but then stops working after about 3 weeks to a month. Its like my skin adjusts to the cream and its really annoying because i have to keep buying new kinds. Anyways, just wondering if anyone else has this problem, thanks. IP: Logged |

Yes! I hate it too. I'm especially prone to them before, during, and after my period. Let me recommend a good product that's helped my face a lot; Continuous Control Acne Wash with Salicylic acid acne medication. It's oil-free and by Clean & Clear. It helps treat and prevent breakouts. It's worked miracles for me. Good luck. ------------------

I'll second Solitary on this as far as product recommendation. I've used Clean and Clear stuff forever and it's miraculous. The best product I've EVER found for breakouts is Kiehl's Blue Astringent Herbal Lotion (look here: http://www.kiehls.com ), but it's a bit pricey. As far as preventing things, though, a lot of what you can do has to do with noticing what you're eating around the time of your breakouts. It's not all hormonal. I know that tomatoes and Krispy Kreme donuts break me out no matter what time of the month it is, and so if I want to eat them (and I always do), I've gotta brace for impact. Making a little log noting what you eat and what your acne's doing can help loads, especially if you track your menstrual cycles as well. Hope this helps. ;] ------------------ want to know the inner lemming? read her diary at http://innerlemming.diaryland.com. IP: Logged |

I dont' get many pimples on my face actually, though I am prone to getting them on my shoulders and chest, mostly during my period though. I've been using Oxy for quite a while and it works like a charm. So far, it is the only cream that has really worked for me. ------------------ IP: Logged |

I really like the Stridex Foaming face crap. I can't remember the name, but it's the stuff that goes from liquid to foam. I heart that stuff! It works really well for me. IP: Logged |

People.. never ever get in to my old and still happening, habit.. being too tired to wash your face. (I know you're all thinking.. disgusting.. and yes it is.. bad me) But.. yeah.. some good advice. Take care everyone. ------------------ *Memories are the best souvenirs.* *I thought I loved him, but he had to break my heart for me to know what true love really is.* [This message has been edited by short stuff (edited 09-25-2001).] IP: Logged |

That happened to me a few months ago, on my back, disappeared for a while, and now it's back. I went to the doc the first time I got it, and he gave me some very effective medicine. It didn't show up for another six months, but when it did, he gave me an even stronger medication, and gave me strict instructions to scrub my back often once it was gone. It's nearly gone now. ------------------ *Read my page *And...alwayz :) IP: Logged |

Let me tell you about me. I am on a prescription drugs because since 6th grade I had pretty bad flares of acne on my face, shoulders, and back. In the summertime I would cry because I wouldn't want to put on a bathing suit and would wear a giant t-shirt over it with shorts. Winter was my favorite season. So you can just imagine. Now, since the end of 7th grade, my acne has greatly improved because of the drugs and the creams that I've been on. From what I know, I used Clean and Clear as well before going on prescription medications. And I suggest, if they are bad that you see a dermatologist because it could scar badly. ------------------ A kiss is just a kiss until you find the one you love, a hug is just a hug until you find the one you are thinking of, a dream is just a dream until you make it come true, love is just a word until it is proven to you IP: Logged |

I totally understand what you mean. I have acne on my face but it's mostly on my back. I've used the whole family of products of "Clinique" but it seems that it's just sold here because I've never heard of it sold anywhere else. They don't even have a website, but their product is real miracle. No matter how many time you use it, the skin will never get used to it, it'll always work. I haven't been using it for a while because it's quite expensive. But for all of you, who wonders if the any other thing has worked, well yes. Neutrogena Body Wash and those things from them has worked fine with me, but the skin gets used to those ones. David ------------------ Anne Frank to her journal IP: Logged |
