Well, strictly speaking, relationships can't be transgendered because relationships don't have gender to begin with. People, on the other hand, have genders, and sexes. And it's possible to be in a relationship with someone who is transgendered or transsexual. It's also possible to be in a relationship with someone who is intersexual. My partner is an intersexed person who was raised as a male but who has both male and female sex chromosomes in his body, for example. For more details on what all these different things mean, please consult our article at www.scarleteen.com/boyfriend/gender.html Some transgendered/transsexual/intersexual people also get into relationships with other people whose sex or gender is unconventional. Two of my close friends and fellow sex educators are a couple like this, and they have a really wonderful relationship that has been together for almost 10 years.
