I like the name Seamus. But that is like 100% Irish so anyway... I don't know if I like Aaron Brian. Like you mentioned, it has than double 'n' thing.. And all the Aaron's I've known have not been people I like, and you know how when that happens, you carry like a bias? hehe.. But putting all of my personal problems aside, I'm not sure if the double 'n' thing flows. I think Brian's a hard middle name to work with. Hmm.. Joseph Brian? Matthew Brian? Mark Brian? Scott Brian? Have you considered making Brian the first name and thinking of a different middle name? Good luck. -- Mercy [This message has been edited by MeRcY * (edited 01-07-2001).] IP: Logged |

Brendan's a good name, and the one a friend of mine has (though his chosen alternate, Kyran, also Keiran, is sort of cool), but Brandon in just a place in Manitoba. Likewise, Dakota's where John Lennon died, and Madison and the like just sound pretentious. Irish names may look or sound cool, but good luck getting anyone to say or spell them right. And they're currently becoming trendy, so they'll be VERY dateable. Giving a kid an interesting middle name and a fairly standard first one doesn't seem a bad idea. I like unusual names to some degree, but they do make a person stand out, and that may or may not be a good thing. I know an Oberon, and that definitely gets attention, but that name in particular could make a kid with literate peers REALLY prone to teasing. Still, how many people are going to know what it means? The doctor said that my coming baby 's gonna be a boy and we're currently cracking our heads trying to find the right name. Pls suggest some nice combination of first and middle names for us. The current fave of our choice is Ethan (so maybe we'll use that for the first name) and the last name is Keely. IP: Logged |

I don't often come into this forum, hence the late date at which I'm posting this. Sorry... I'm dead set on two names if I ever have kids (and, admittedly, I don't really want to). For a girl, it's gotta be Tara. For a boy, it'd have to be Alastair. IP: Logged |

Here are some that I like, although they may be better suited to fictional characters than actual people: Andreja - probably my favorite name, since it's a female name that means "manly" Thaddeus - what my parents would have named me if I'd been a boy IP: Logged |

I like the name Caylum for a boy or girl. That is what I'm going to name my first baby. It's Irish for winding valley I think. Don't quote me on that though. Caylum Bryce (boy) Middle names will change though. LOL IP: Logged |

I have become a mother when I gave birth to a baby boy, two weeks earlier than expected, at London Bridge Hospital on Sunday morning. The baby boy weighed 10lbs and was named Ethan. Both the boy and I are doing well. IP: Logged |

I like these names: BOYS: GIRLS: With some of these, I can't think of a middle name that sounds good... but the ones with the stars by them are what I will name my children. I am in love with those names! [This message has been edited by justagirl04 (edited 07-16-2001).] IP: Logged |

I just realized... you've picked the name "Aaron Brian" and then the last name which starts with an "S"... Your baby's initals are going to be "A.B.S." Which is also a nickname for the name "Abby/Abbie" Just thought I'd throw that at you!

LOL In Glitter's post way back on 11-14-2000, she has both my and my daughter's names on her list, but both spelled differently from how we spell them. When I was young and single I wanted to name my kids Kelly Alan (boy) and Kyle Ann (girl). My guy doesn't like either name (likes Kelly for a boy slightly better than Kyle for a girl, but really hates Kyle for a girl). So, we had to come up with a whole new name for our daughter. We ended up with Hayley Deann. Hayley just because we like it and Deann combines his mom's middle name and my grandma's first name, kinda like what my parents did when they named me. We already know that if we have a son in the future, he'll be named Damon (dh's middle name). Middle names are still up in the air, but I think we're leaning toward Joshua. For a girl (just in case our next child isn't a boy) we're liking Maysa...probably Maysa Lynett. We met a Maysa while vacationing in Cancun a couple of years ago and I just fell in love with the name. It probably also had something to do with the fact that she was born in Egypt, her open personality, dark skin and beautiful, long, curly black hair. I LOVE names and have been obsessed with them for as long as I can remember! LOL ------------------ [This message has been edited by Munchy (edited 01-20-2002).] IP: Logged |

Luckily, none of the names on this list was terribly awkward, but imho, baby names are getting more and more ridiculous as we speak. Please, have mercy on your kids and don't give them a name that makes no sense whatsoever. anyway, i'm not the only one who's looking out for the well-being of the next generation. check out: http://www.notwithoutmyhandbag.com/babynames/index.html It's the Bad, Bad Baby Names page. seriously folks, i've got a name that doesn't quite fit into the cultural context here, and lemme tell you, it's been nothing but grief for me my entire life. there's nothing wrong with using a traditional spelling... ------------------ IP: Logged |
