i have some question..for example the antibiotic (cephalexin) you have at your house was expired april 28/05 ist okay to take it even its expired?

No, expired medicine does not function the same way as newly prescribed medicine would. Furthermore, most antibiotics, like penicillin, require that you take the full round, so there should never be leftovers, excepting in special circumstances.

If you think you may be in need of medicine, see a doctor. Don't try and medicate yourself, okay?

Expired antibiotics should always be disposed of promptly (most places you can take them back to the pharmacy for proper disposal now).

With some antibiotics and medications, it is more serious than just not working as well after the expiration date. Tetracycline, for example, actually begins to break down and becomes toxic (expired tetracycline in particular can cause damage to the kidneys) after a certain point.

So when in doubt, you should always throw out the expired meds and get a new prescription. Call your doctor or pharmacist for information about your specific meds and how they should be taken.
