I was reading a topic in which a man said that he was unable to achieve orgasm although his girlfriend did it 'all the time'. My immediate reaction was "Ha! No girl orgasms 'all the time' ", but then I realized everybody must be different. This brings me to my question. Being only 16 and having obviously not too much experience in the matter, I was curious about achieving orgasm. The farthest I've gotten with my boyfriend is 'fingering' and I have orgasmed, although it has been only clitoral orgasms...I think. Anyway, are there any statistics about how often (on average although I am aware that everyone is quite different) women orgasm during sexual intercourse. Just one of the curiosity killed the cat things, I have a constant suspicion that all women are doomed never to have amazing sex lives and will forever have to fake it. Faking it... I think i need to post another topic, off to the forums!

Actually, orgasms don't come in different "brands" - there's no such thing as a separate "clitoral orgasms" or "vaginal orgasms". Most orgasms require some clitoral stimulation, direct or indirect.

Studies have shown that at least half of all women can't reach orgasm from intercourse alone (although they may be able to reach orgasm during intercourse if they get the extra stimulation they need).

That's perfectly normal, and it doesn't mean that they need to "fake it" or can't have amazing sex lives!

Ohhh, I see. Somehow I'd gotten the idea that you can either orgasm by stimulation of the clitoris or by stimulation of the G-spot, although maybe the G-spot refers more to actual intercourse? Well just goes to show how anything can be misleading...

Some women do find G-spot stimulation very enjoyable - equally, some women find it uncomfortable or boring.

Most women will still need some clitoral stimulation to orgasm, though.

And however you reach orgasm, the orgasms don't come in different types. It's not like one sort of stimulation gives you one sort of orgasm, and another sort of stimulation gives you a different sort of orgasm. An orgasm is an orgasm is an orgasm .
