So I had my appointment today. I really liked her and she was really nive and kind. I am seeing her again next tuesday at 2. On the way back from my apt as i was walking to the bus stop i saw him. He started to follow me. I got really scared, :( . I feel like i can really open up to her so I al really excited to be metting with her. I dont know what to think or feel right now after seeing him. I mean is it normal to feel the way I am? Am i some sort of a freak for freaking out when I saw him.

Hey brokenhearted, can you please expand on what you're talking about? Who did you see? Also, I just thought I'd add: if you stick to one thread for stuff like this it is easier for us to help you since we can just scroll up and see what you've been talking about so far. But if you don't want to that is totally your perogative. I just think this way it will save you a whole lot of re-explaining things that you've already explained. Brokenhearted, I am so sorry that you saw him. Do you have anything that you always have with you that you can use to get help fast if need be, like a cell phone or change for a taxi or bus? One tip my mom tells me often is to just yell really loud if you're scared, or even yell "Fire!" so you will get everyone's attention who is around you and within hearing distance. I'm so glad that you feel like you can open up to your counsellor and be yourself. That is so important! It sounds like you have a great relationship with her already! I hope you are doing well!

That's great! That's good that you always have your cell phone on you. A bus is a good place too, because it usually has a few people and you can kind of blend in or keep an eye out and yell to get someone's attention. Did he get on that same bus, too? When I go out for walks or out to do errands on my own - or even when I see my partner or friends and I might be alone getting there at some point - I always have ID and some spare change or bills in case I need a taxi or to get somewhere fast. Having your cell phone and plans ready will probably make you feel a little safer when you're out and about. It is understandable that it was hard to see him. Seeing people who have hurt us in some ways can be very painful. What I usually do when this happens is to sometimes go to a place where I can be alone for a few minutes and not be suspicioned - like a private washroom, outside by myself, or a place like that where no one is around - and pray and just try and collect my thoughts. Sometimes I might even cry a little, but it gets out whatever I feel and then I can usually get up and leave the bathroom and be okay again. I'm not saying you have to pray or anything, but taking some time for you in a private place if you can get to one (even after the fact, instead of bottling it up inside) is actually pretty therapeutic.
