i just wanted to make a post on how greatful i am for this site. it's so great and informational and accurate; all you moderators, and computer peoples, and sex educators really do a fantasic job.i'm 15female in a small town and take freshman health, and i feel like a smarty when it comes to all the sexual things (no, not because i'm experienced). mainly because i've been checking out this site since i was 13. it's answered many-a-question and informed me about things i never knew about.
keep up with the good work!

Thanks so much - all of you.Miz Scarlet, The sexperts, and the advocates all work really hard to make sure that we give our users unbiased, accurate information. I think a lot of that stems from the fact that we all wish there was something like scarleteen for us when we were young...
Of course, when some of us were 15, there wasn't an internet, and precious few people had a computer. Yep, scary huh?
But really, thank you for your kind words and support - they mean so much to us! It is nice to know what we do is so appreciated.

I want to say thanks, too! I love being able to help people with their problems, and it's nice that people are so open minded here.
This site has given me an opportunity to share my opinions and have discussions, as well as having my questions answered.
So thanks again!!! *Badger*

We love you Heather! And to our loyal members, thanks for coming to visit, I hope you all learned something valuable.
And to the people who would like to see ST shut down, we're not letting you bring us down.
And to those of you who don't want them to shut us down, keep the praise coming. Drop a kindly email to boardmom@scarleteen.com and let us know you care. Make a donation even if it's just a week's worth of lunch money. Every little bit helps.
Just a little love goes a long way!

I can only support what Gummy has already said. People are often so afraid of themselves, especially their own sexuality, that they lash out at other people in an attempt to deal with it.Fortunately, teens who have Scarleteen are far more unlikely to grow up fearing their sexuality- whether they feel that its something they only want to share with a partner in marriage or civil union, whether it is something they are only comfortable sharing with themselves, whether they prefer only to have partner-sex in monogamous relationships or whether they feel at home with safe, consensual casual sex.
I'm sure there will always be people who have made up their minds that education that is open to all different facets of sexuality is evil, just as there will always be racism and violence. But as with all of those things, we can do our damned best to prevent them as much as possible. And Scarleteen does that.
It prevents ignorance, on a variety of levels, ranging from personal sexual health care, to social forces affecting people whose sexuality is not deemed mainstream. I'm honoured to be a part of it, and will always admire and love Heather (Miz Scarlet) for the enourmous effort she has put into keeping this place going.
