My relationship with my primary partner (we were poly) has ended. Although she was verbally/emotionally abusive towards me, I miss her and still want to be with her, and I feel suicidal without her. I've been self injuring for two days now. I am under the care of a psychiatrist and a therapist, and ordinarily I find them to be helpful, but in a time of crisis (like now) it doesn't seem like enough. I've called hotlines which help temporarily, but then the pain returns. I don't know what else to do.

I'm so sorry this got overlooked last night, audreytoo. However, we don't have the resources or setup to help users feeling suicidal, especially since that is literally a life or death issue and requires a kind of care we just aren't equipped to provide. Have you told your therapist or psychiatrist you are having suicidal feelings and also also self-harming?

Can you recommend any resources for me then? I called the Trevor Hotline but was told I was too "old" for them to help me (I'm mid-20s). I am not interested in hotlines or other suicide/crisis services unless they are specifically queer-focused otherwise I don't feel comfortable. I feel like I am out of options. My psychiatrist does know what is going on, and told me the only thing that will help is time. But I am hurting now. It seems like there are not very many resources for someone in my situation. I feel alone with my pain.

I was out of town, audreytoo, so, yet again, have to apologize for this being overlooked, especially since you are in crisis. I am so very sorry. I understand about your comfort level when it comes to the hotlines. So, my next suggestion, and they serve all ages (so I'm not sure why Trevor didn't give this to you) would be the Gay and Lesbian National Hotline, at: 1-888-843-4564 But my main concern was that you had someone who can give you qualified mental healthcare who has been informed you are feeling suicidal. However, I find the approach that "all that needs is time" troubling. Were you clear you are having suicidal thoughts? If you have support with that, specifically covered, we can for sure talk with you about related issues that don't pose a risk of your death. But I will say in advance that for the rest of the day, I *am* out, so let's figure we can talk more in the morning if you like?
