I just took the last pill of the 3rd row in my pack. (The dark blue ones I think) I'm about to start the green ones (Last row) tomarrow. From my understanding you are supposed to get your period during that time, right? Well am I supposed to be showing signs of my period today or right away tomarrow? I'm kinda confused because the first month of my pills I spotted the whole way through and now it's just normal but I haven't gotten my period this month so that's why I'm wondering if I should be showing signs. Thankyou!------------------ Wonder

you probably won't get your "period" - really a withdrawal bleed - until a couple of days into the placebo pills (the last week of pills), because it takes some time for the hormones to clear out of your body.but, you should maybe talk to your doctor about the spotting. generally, if these side effects don't go away after 3 months, your pill needs to be adjusted. em

Is the discharge supposed to change also? I mean mine is still the consistancy of mid cycle the thick white discharge. Isn't it supposed to get more watery and clear? I didn't get my period today either and I took the first sugar pill...is there something wrong?------------------ Wonder

Nothing's wrong. Vaginal discharge does change throughout the cycle, but much of this is rooted in cyclical horomone changes and ovulation. The pill stops ovulation from occuring, so your discharge may not vary much in your cycle.

Usually your period won't appear on the first day of your sugar pills...your body needs a while to clear the last pill generally. This is your first cycle on the pill, right? If so, then don't stress any of it. It's going to take your body at least two or three cycles to regulate itself and get used to the new hormones. After a few cycles, you'll probably notice your withdrawl bleeding coming at about the same time each month. I for instance, don't start my withdrawl bleeding until the fourth day of my placebos...and it took about 3-4 months before it started happening consistently on that day. Your body is trying to adjust to what's going on now, so don't worry about when your period shows up.

What's the "period" like? See the first month of my pills I spotted all the way through and I noticed more blood during the placebo pills so I knew it was my period. What is it like after the first month or when it starts to regulate itself?------------------ Wonder

Well, if your body adapts well, then you'll probably notice the spotting during your whole cycle ceasing, and you'll have something aproximating a "normal" period, though it may be shorter and somewhat lighter than what you experienced before starting the pill.------------------Sarah Liz Scarleteen Sexpert (and Labia Lady )
