Hi there, I'm really stressing out over this. I had sex 2 days ago with my boyfriend. We used a condom, it did not break or slip off and I even tested it by filling it with water afterwards and there was no visible hole/tear. I'm not on the pill or any other form of BC and I have read that condoms can have tiny holes, invisible to the human eye. Is this correct? In panic, I bought Levonelle morning after pill as a backup and I have three hours left to take it (it will be around 84% effective). I have decided that my fear of pregnancy is greater than my desire to have sex, so I will not have sex anymore from now and am wondering, should I take this MAP just to put my mind at ease? I don't see how any sperm could have made contact with my vagina, but I just can't stop worrying about it and the more I read online, the more I hear stories of women becoming pregnant with perfect use of condom whilst on the pill and it's freaking me out. Please help. Kind regards. P.S. I also have irregular periods each month. We had sex the day after my period finished so I have no idea if I would have been ovulating or not. There are no tiny holes in condoms. If you used a condom correctly for all genital contact, and you did not have a condom failure (and believe me, it's obvious when a condom breaks - there is no need to fill it with water to check, you'll know when it happens), you have had excellent protection from pregnancy. No method of birth control is 100% safe. But a condom, used correctly, is over 98% effective. You can read more about condoms here:Condoms and here: Condom Basics: A User's Manual

Thank you very much for such a quick reply. Do you think I should take the MAP anyway to put my mind at rest? As I will not be having any more intercourse from now. If I was unlucky enough to be in the 2% failure rate, I would regret not having taken it! Apologies for sounding paranoid

As you already know, since it's been two days since you had sex, the MAP will not be as effective anymore. Certainly less effective than the protection you already have from the condom. So, in my personal opinion, I don't think there is any necessity for taking the MAP at this point. However, if you feel that it would make you feel more secure, there is no harm in going ahead and taking it.
