If a condom hasnt slipped off or broke then theres no way ejaculate could come out? My partner ejaculated in the condom and didnt immediately pull out, thrusted slowly twice then pulled out around 5-10 seconds after. All the semen was around the top of the condom but there was some discharge around the body of the penis, im assuming that it was lube.

Those are, indeed the ways ejaculate, when it does, can escape from a condom. So, yep, sounds like you were probably looking at lube and/or your own fluids.

So the risk for pregnancy would be low here since the condom didnt break or slip off? Then that means ejaculate couldnt have possible gotten out of the condom even if he didnt pull out the exact second he ejaculated?

Yes to both questions or to which one lol

Yes to both questions: unless a condom slips off or breaks, then ejaculate really can't escape. The problem with not withdrawing right after ejaculation is that it makes it more likely that the condom will slip off; not withdrawing immediately doesn't mean a condom has failed, it just makes it more likely to happen. Does that make more sense?

Yes that makes perfect sense Thank you for the explanation! I can consider the condom being fully effective at preventing pregnancy then and not consider this a condom failure. So kinda like how not using lube makes it more likely to break?

Exactly, because the condom stayed on it was not a fail. (And yes, it's much like your comparison to not using lube and increasing chance of failure).

Hello! I have another question regarding this topic. I know that ejaculate cant escape the condom unless the condom breaks or comes off but if my partner is still inside of me and following ejaculation, starts to lose his erection but continues to slowly thrust, could the condom be loose enough to allow ejaculate to escape, possibly out of the bottom of the condom? Is that possible despite the fact that he held on to the base of the condom upon withdrawing? There was fluid beneath the base of the condom. Im not sure if he was indeed losing his erection although when trying to remove the condom, he was complaining about the base of the condom being really tight. Im assuming that means he didnt lose his erection.

If and when a partner has ejaculated, they need to withdraw. If they want to keep going, they need to put on a new condom. If they don't, it can be much easier for the condom to slip off or break. But if neither of these things have happened -- the condom stayed on his penis and it didn't break -- then there's no need to worry this DID happen. The condom simply moving a bit doesn't mean a condom failure happened. Make sense?

He doesnt really "keep going". He kinda just stays there for a little while, not for a super long time, just kinda relaxes for a few seconds, catching his breath. He just doesnt withdraw the very second after ejaculating and I feel awful if I just kinda "kick him out" lol. Im just unsure of when he should withdraw and when he stays inside "too long". the condom wouldnt stay on if he had lost his erection would it, even if he did manage to hold on to the base?

When he feels like he has finished ejaculating, that's the time for him to withdraw. I'm not sure why you're framing this as "kicking him out." That sounds pretty emotionally loaded to me, and all we're talking about here is using your method of contraception and safer sex properly. This is just the deal when we use condoms, you know? It's not an eviction. When erection starts to fade, the condom can still stay on, yes, it's just that it gets tougher for it to stay put. Again, if you and he want to extend intercourse some after he's ejaculated and he still has some level of erection, he can always just put a new condom on.

Oh sorry hahaha I didnt mean it to sound like that. Its just sometimes I dont know when hes done ejaculating and I go "oh withdraw noooow!" and he tells me hes still trying to catch his breath or hes not quite done yet. lol and I feel a little bad. So basically like what they told me in previous posts, as long as it didnt come off completely or break then no chance for ejaculate to come out? When he did withdraw, I saw semen in the tip and around the head of the penis so Im pretty sure the condom did its job right lol. He doesnt generally want to extend intercourse, more like take time to enjoy his orgasm and catch his breath hahaha =.=

By all means, hanging out for a minute or two without moving around overmuch is okay after ejaculation. So, it isn't like the very second it happens, everyone has to race to withdraw. And ejaculation and orgasm can happen in a way where it doesn't happen all at once, but in spurts, so it is always okay for a partner to stay put when that's happening until it's all the way over.

So its not a big deal if he doesnt withdraw right away? only time to worry would be if the condom came off completely and broke, because those are the only ways the ejaculate could escape?
