Okay, this is really freaking me out. For the last couple of weeks, my vulva has been quite itchy, and I've experienced a dry, burning sensation down there as well. When I asked about this on another forum here, I was told it was definitely a yeast infection, which was so relieving. But then I remembered something: sometimes yeast infections can be a symptom of HIV. About three years ago, my current boyfriend was dating a girl who used to (not to be mean) sleep around a lot. He only dated her for about a week or two, but I know for sure that they kissed. He swears that they've never had any kind of sexual contact beyond kissing, but it was such a long time ago, so I don't necessarily trust his memory. He and I are not "sexually active" by definition, but we've definitely felt each other up and even had "dry sex" (without climaxing) a few times. Recently, we were fooling around and he touched my clitoris area and the skin just below it (not the vaginal opening) for about 10 seconds. Could I have possibly contracted HIV from that if he contracted it from his previous girlfriend (this is hypothetical; neither of us has been tested for STIs) ??? PLEASE HELP!!

If you have had a very itchy vulva for the last couple of weeks, you're late on getting healthcare. In other words, the answer here is to go and see a doctor ASAP, something that, should this happen again, you'll want to arrange after only a few days of itching, not weeks. HIV can not be transmitted by hands like that. If your boyfriend was HIV-positive, the only ways you could get HIV from him were via exposure to his semen or blood. So, it's not likely that, though it sounds like it's time for you two to both start getting tested if you're engaging in kinds of sex together, especially for him, if he's possibly had partners before. But get to the doctor, okay? Three weeks suggests you've probably got a pretty bad infection at this point, be it yeast, bacteria or something else, and not getting treated not only means you stay uncomfortable, it can impact your health as a whole.

I know I'm late unfortunately I was away at a camp for about three weeks so there wasn't really much I could do about it at the time. Can a yeast infection turn into anything else?? Like because I haven't been able to see a doctor for three weeks, will something else start to happen??
