My last period started on Dec. 4, 2012, and lasted about 6 days, so it ended on Dec. 10, 2012. According to an app on my phone, I was supposed to get my period on Jan. 6, which was last week. I'm on day 41 of my cycle, and still nothing yet. I have only been keeping track of my periods since the March 2012, and my cycles range from 28-39 days. This one has been really late, since it's now day 41, and no sign of my period. I'm planning on taking a pregnancy test on Tuesday, but what are the chances that I could be pregnant? I had protected sex with my boyfriend before my last period, and then again on Jan. 8. Please help me!

Also, on Jan. 7, I also started waking up a lot earlier, since school was starting right after winter break. Over winter break, I would go to bed at 3am, and wake up at 2pm. So could my period be affected by my recently waking up at 5am now?

Hi katherkv, welcome to scarleteen! Sleeping schedules don't usually affect people's menstrual cycles, so it's not likely anything to do with that. However, cycles do just vary sometimes. We can't tell you what your chances of pregnancy are, there are no stats/percentages for one-instance-only -- we do know that in a year, when condoms are used, between 2 and 15 women out of 100 will become pregnant. There's more on that here:Birth Control Bingo: Condoms However, that's within a year -- if you know that you used the condoms properly, for all genital contact and they didn't break, then for those particular incidents, pregnancy is not something to be concerned about. Pregnancy tests can be taken at least 2 weeks after a risk (the results are more reliable after 3, though) or after a missed period. Also please check out this link for more information around all of this: http://www.scarleteen.com/forum/ultimatebb.php?/ubb/get_topic/f/28/t/007116.html [ 01-13-2013, 10:38 PM: Message edited by: Onionpie ]

There are many possible reasons -- we have no way of knowing which reason it is. How about you check out this article with more info on why you might miss your period: M.I.A or, Dude, Where's My Period?
