i'm confused with implantation bleeding and period. my GF having her period only 2-3 days this month, she usually have her period for 4-5 days. but before she had once or twice period that only last 2-3 days. her period in this month is come with her usual pre menstrual sympton and had a normal amount of blood like usual menstruation. and come in the time around when she is expecting her period but 1 day early. is it a menstruation ? or pregnancy ? Bleeding that starts when a period is due, looks like a period and lasts roughly as long as a period does, is probably a period. Do you have any reason to suspect pregnancy?

Hey thomason, a shorter period is still a period and is no indication of pregnancy. And 1 day early isn't very much at all. Some people's periods can shift dramatically from Cycle to cycle. A cycle also doesn't last exactly the number of days in a month so not only is 1 day early not a big deal, it's also perhaps not even 1 day early. 2 days rather than 5 days is also the sort of shift that plenty of people can expect experience in their periods! Here's our big article on menstruation:On the Rag - A Guide to Menstruation I'd draw your attention to this quote: quote: That whole cycle takes on average, 28 days, and most people with menstrual cycles have cycles of anywhere from 23 to 35 days.

Did you have unprotected intercourse? Is your girlfriend taking any sort of birth control? Implantation bleeding is very rare. When it happens, it is no more than a bit of light spotting. It's not likely at all to last more than a day or two.

Maybe you can follow this link to see if anything you've done has posed a pregnancy risk:http://www.scarleteen.com/forum/ultimatebb.php?/ubb/get_topic/f/27/t/027495.html But, yes: implantation bleeding looks very different from menstrual bleeding.
