Yesterday my boyfriend ejaculated on my lower back, just above my butt. I was lying on my stomach. After a moment, I could feel a drop of semen trickle down my anus and I think it landed either on or near my vagina or on the bedsheets. My boyfriend quickly wiped off all the semen on my back and also wiped my vagina. Am I at risk for a pregnancy? Is it possible that some sperm got into my vagina? Do I need to take EC? I read the "Pregnancy Scared" article, but I am still not sure if I this is a real pregnancy risk.

As you read in that article, IF there was direct contact between his semen and your genitals, then yes, there may have been a risk. If there was not -- like if the semen was only on your back -- then there would not have been any risk. So, I'm not clear, and maybe you aren't either, about if ejaculate was in contact with your genitals, either your anus or vulva. What was your sense of this? I could definitely feel a drop of ejaculate trickle down the crack between my buttocks towards my vagina. But I am not sure if any ejaculate actually came into contact with my vagina. It all happened so fast. The bedsheets were a little bit damp, so maybe the drop of ejaculate landed there. What should I do? I am not on birth control, and I don't want to take emergency contraception unnecessarily.

What you do is really up to how much risk you're comfortable with. If semen did come into contact with your genitals, which you seem to think is possible, then there is a risk of pregnancy. If you know that you absolutely do not want the risk of becoming pregnant, then you would want to reduce that risk by taking emergency contraception. If you're comfortable with the level of risk, you'd just proceed as usual. Make sense?

How big is the level of risk of pregnancy if he did not ejaculate directly inside of me? If just a little bit of semen dripped onto my vagina, is my pregnancy risk extremely low?

Well, the risk is lower than if he had ejaculated inside your vagina, but how much lower I really couldn't say. It's also unclear since it's unclear whether his semen did come in contact with your genitals, so you really will just have to decide if you're going to be extra-cautious or not.
