Is it possible to get pregnant from a guy fingering you if he could have had a small amount of pre-cum on them? I was with a guy we just were making out but he was rubbing himself a little (not sure if he had any pre-cum on him or not since we were busy kissing). Then he started to finger me. Can I get pregnant from this? My period is later than normal, but i'm feeling a little crampy. I'm thinking i'm just stressed over this and school that is causing my period to be late. Please help!

Hey, worried. Can you start by going through the post and the links inside it about this posted at the top of this forum first? It's here: http://www.scarleteen.com/forum/ultimatebb.php?/ubb/get_topic/f/27/t/027786.html Thanks.

Thanks Heather! I'm just terrified. I've heard that pre-cum does and does not contain sperm. I've also heard that as soon as sperm hit the air they die. Are either of these two true, or are they just myths?

Happy to inform you about those things.Sperm and pre-ejaculate: Pre-ejaculate, all by itself, does NOT contain sperm cells. What can happen, though, is that on its way through the urethra, that fluid can sometimes pick up trace amount of sperm left over from a previous ejaculation. When someone is actually having the kind of sex that poses real pregnancy risks -- namely, intercourse or other direct genital-to-genital contact -- it's possible that sometimes there might be enough viable sperm cells to create a pregnancy. But even then, it's unlikely, probably about 2% of all people having that kind of sex that way in a year will become pregnant via that route, given estimates of perfect use with withdrawal.Sperm and "air": Our whole bodies are infused with oxygen, so by no means does oxygen kill sperm cells. However, those cells need very specific conditions in which to stay viable, like the right kind of fluid that stays fluid, body temperatures, etc. So, if and when we're talking about someone ejaculating somewhere besides right onto or into someone' vagina (or in a lab, where it can be carefully preserved), we just don't even need to go there per pregnancy risks.

Thanks that makes me feel better. Still a tad worried, but I should be fine. Just wanted to get someone else to tell me that the risk is very low and that i'm fine.

What you're describing here is really about risks of infections (namely things like bacterial vaginosis and UTIs), not pregnancy. So, any next times with this kind of sex? If a partner doesn't wash their hands first before touching your genitals, you just ask them to please do so politely.

Ok thanks. I'll be more careful. I've done stupid things before. I've had unprotected sex (he never ejaculated in me) and was fine so I assumed I would be fine from this. Just wanted a professionals opinion.

So, sounds like you just also want to make sure soon, if you haven't already, you get started with your annual sexual healthcare, including STI tests.

Hi worriedinOH, Also for future reference, know that intercourse without a condom, even when there is no ejaculation, does pose a risk of STI (sexually transmitted infection) transmission. So, you'll want to be using condoms for future encounters, and also getting yourself some STI testing. Do you have a sexual health care provider? Have you had a pelvic exam and STI screening before?

One last question, would you recommend taking a pregnancy test just in case? I thought about plan B, but I didn't think it would matter, because I am not certain he had pre-ejaculate on him when he fingered.

If, based on what you've read here, you feel as if you've had a pregnancy risk, or if you're just generally still nervous, a pregnancy test can certainly alleviate your fears.
