Hi my boyfriend and I had sex about a week ago. We used a condom for all genital contact, he put it on correctly and it was used from the beginning of us having sex. We started doing it and I orgasmed and we took his penis out. It lasted about five min. He never ejactulated inside of me when we were having sex. After we took his penis out, I put my pants on and then gave him a handjob to finish him. About three-four hours later we did the same exact thing again, it lasted about ten min. He had gone pee before we did it again and he wore a new condom and never cummed inside of me. The condoms were just bought the day before so they were in good condition. The condom never broke or anything and he NEVER ejactulated inside of me either times. We put the condom on correctly too. This was the deepest he's ever gone inside of me...I guess you could say I fully lost my virginity that night. I woke up 2 mornings later with light bleeding and it lasted for about two days. But I know this is normal cuz of the hymen and all the anatomy down there. I'm just wondering, do you think we were safe? What's my chance of pregnancy? Thanks.

Hi, 24Brown. Since you used a condom for all genital contact, the condoms worked properly, and your boyfriend did not ejaculate, your risk for pregnancy is very low. Here are pages from our main site with more info:Condoms The Buddy System: Effectiveness Rates for Backing Up Your Birth Control With a Second Method So this situation would be counted as close to "perfect use" since the condoms did not fail and were worn for all genital contact. And using withdrawal with condoms makes it even more effective. So the effectiveness was about 98-99.92% which is very good. If you're still not comfortable with the current "buddy system" you're using, and want even more effectiveness for your contraception, you could back up the condoms with another type of contraception other than withdrawal. But the situation you're describing presents a very low risk of pregnancy. Hope that helped

Thanks this really helped! I think I'm just freaking out because I lost my virginity and it was my first time. I'm supposed to get my period in about 3 days so I hope it comes. My friends and boyfriend keep saying I'm fine and there's no way I'm pregnant, but I'm just worried. Is there really anything for me to worry about? Do you think ill be okay?

It depends on what you mean by "okay"...? How do you feel? Do you feel "okay"? Are you feeling like maybe you weren't ready for this, or do you feel good about how everything went? Anytime we have the kinds of sex that can cause pregnancy, there is a risk of it. In your situation it is a very low risk as Onionpie stated above, since you properly used protection, and you used 2 forms. But there is still a risk, are you okay with that risk? It's alright if you don't feel okay with it, you don't have to engage in this again until you are more ready to deal with it if you feel uncomfortable with the level of risk there is.

I feel like I was emotionally ready, I trust my boyfriend and I love him. I just don't know if I was physically ready for the worry of late periods and all the pregnancy risks. I meant if I was okay meaning I won't be pregnant and my period will come like always. I've been starting to get cramps and have been pmsing the past couple days so I'm really really hoping its on its way. I don't think I'm okay with the risks that sex is bringing and I probably won't do it again for a long time. I'm sure I'll get my period and I'm just freaking out because it was my first time. I know there's always that chance which is why I thought doubling up on methods would make everything much better. Thanks for responses and advice...its making me feel a lot better
