I have 2 questions so I shall hit 2 birds with one stone and take it from there! 1. My fiance is slightly larger than average, about 7 inches. I usually find at times that even if I am well lubricated, it is slirghtly painful to have intercourse. Is he too big or am I just too small? I took a mirror and looked down there and saw a little tear on the bottom of the opening of my vagina. There is minimal bleeding too after we have sex. Is there a way to fix this or perhaps I just need to relax more or use extra lubricants? 2. Are there any foods or vitamins that damper the effectiveness of birth control? I am on NuvaRing and it's served me well by far but if there's a slight chance to increase effectiveness, I want to know if there are any medications or foods I should be avoiding (I already know that anti-biotics make BC less effective but I am not on anti-biotics at the moment). Sometimes I take these gummy vitamins and my diet is off and on, I usually like junky foods and sometimes I don't eat junk for a day or 2. Are there certain foods I should avoid? Just a general inquiry. Thanks!!

There is no too big/too small like you're thinking. There's just what is or is not comfortable for different people and their different bodies and the different ways they do and don't fit together. The vagina also isn't a static size: it expands based on relaxation and arousal, but that still doesn't mean every penis or position will feel comfortable every time. So, if you need your partner to only go so deep with intercourse, then that's what you need. If you maybe need something else before or with intercourse -- more lubrication, other sexual activities first or during, more lead-up to intercourse, whatever -- then you do. To find these things out, you'll just want to experiment and see how they go. In your patient insert for your ring, you'll see a list of medications that may be issues while using your ring. But you don't have to worry about things like foods or vitamins.

Ahh thanks very much Sometimes intercourse hurts and sometimes it doesn't...we both love foreplay but sometimes it seems to be more effective than others. Perhaps it depends on the situation. And thanks for the input on effectiveness!! I shall check my package info.
