Girls, this is asking a really personal question about your body, but this is an internet forum and no one is going to know who you are. I was just wondering if your outer labia covers your inner labia, and if your outer labia covers your clitoris. I know that either way is normal, but I still wonder if I am on an extreme end. My outer labia cover none of that stuff. Thanks for answering.

That's totally normal too! Labia really can vary EXTREMELY in appearance, and all variations are normal and healthy. If you do a search of these boards for labia, you'll come across tons of posts from other girls just like you, too.

Thanks for such a quick reply. I know it's normal for your outer labia not to cover your inner, but your clitoris? Doesn't it usually cover that?

Is there a way to do a search on just the forums? I can only see a search for the whole site.

When you are actually, on the forums, the search link is in the top right corner of the page, along with links to your profile page and soforth. However, to help you out, here is a link: http://www.scarleteen.com/cgi-bin/forum/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=search

Hey, I'd like to share my experiences on this topic. I've recently stopped seeing a guy who I really did care about (although I'm sure you're going to tell me I should definetely forget him.) Anyway, in a discussion once, he told me that he really disliked the size of my labia, and it was the reason (along with the size of my breasts) that he started seeing another girl. Nice hey? It was never something I ever thought about before, Im 18 and been sexually involved with a few guys, and never gave it a second thought. However, i do feel slightly self conscious about it now, but I am confident that I will not be opting for a "designer vagina" and feel that women that do do this are only fuelling the fire. No one should be made to feel worthless because of their body or feel they need to have surgery, and I hope all the girls searching this forum on this topic take away the fact that no matter what the small percentage of immature, ignorant guys say, we are all normal.

I was just wondering about that the other day. My inner is, um, very prominent and is definitely not totally covered by my outer. Seems to be saying.."hey! I'm here, too!" lol. I can't stand it and for a long time I thought something was wrong with me because I thought that the outer HAD to cover the inner. Something I'll have to get used to, I suppose.

Hehe, I never really thought about it either until I started delving deeper into the ... *ahem* ... "slums of the Internet" and thus began to notice the extreme diversity in labia. Personally, mine cover everything. When I was younger I thought that labia just normally looked like that and never thought it was possible to be different. When I figured out that they could, it sort of struck me as "Hah, that's pretty awesome", for lack of better adjective ^^; But if your labia minora go out further than your labia majora, that's nothing to be worried/ashamed about. I know a lot of girls that have actually had labiaplasty to remove their labia majora completely, so if you want to look at it in a more positive light, think about the fact that you naturally have something that other women have paid thousands for ^^ Since we're on the topic of it, though, I'd like to ask something : Does anyone here have asymmetrical labia minora? As in, is one side smaller than the other, etc. One of mine has always been sort of "ruffly" while the other has looked kind of like a crescent-shaped balloon or something similar (AKA, kind of puffy). Just curious to see how truly different we all are. [ 08-24-2007, 11:11 PM: Message edited by: Itami139 ]

My outer labia doesn't cover my inner fully, doesn't worry me at all. However, my boyfriend and I just started having oral sex, and he noticed how much bigger one of my inner labia "things" is than the other, never bothered me before.. I've read so many times how common it is - except then I was kind of subconcious he noticed, except he just said he was impressed by it, which was kind of cool.

In a Women's Studies/Women's Health class that I took at my university, my professor brought in a book of pictures of women's vulvas. Each woman was proud and she put the pictures on the projector so that we could see how drastically they differ. (I'm sorry but I can't seem to recall the name of the book right now...) Anyway, she basically told us that there is a very wide range of "normal" and women should only be considered if they have pain or difficulty with normal bodily functions (for example, if she is unable to menstruate because her hymen is imperforated). Otherwise, it's just what makes each of us unique.

Hello, My labia is rather large and I've always thought they we're lovely and very womanly. When I here other women talking about a procedure to get them reduced I cringe. Labiaplasty? Is this a cruel joke on women by an industry driven by profits? Each woman is beautiful in their own way and we should celebrate that! SandraL

my labia majora is rather puffy and hides everything, but i have almost no labia minora to speak of... and not much of a "hood" either. but hey, it does what it's supposed to.

Nope. My outer labia, while not small, cannot possible conceal my even larger inner labia and clitoris. I am what they refer to as "very external." I have long labia that never tuck in, and a large clitoral hood. I am, in fact, usually one of the most showy girls that my partners have ever been with. I was self conscious about that for a very long time. But so far, most of them see my unique build as a beautiful attribute, and not a deformity.

mine aren'y symmetrical. my left inner labia is larger than my right inner labia and although neither are covered by my outter labia, the left shows more than the right. to be honest, i couldnt care less. plastic surgery, what on earth would you bother with that for. as long as it does what its supposed to is any guy (or girl) going to be all that bothered?

Hello, I always thought I was very weird because all of my cousins had these perfect concealed vaginas where their outer covered everthing. And my inner protruded out. I remember trying to tuck them in so I'd look like them but they'd always poke out. I've gotten used to my body and a surprised that a lot of people have the same style. To be honest, I haven't seen any like mine such as in family. :/

I have little to no inner labia, and not much of a clitoral hood either. I have a rather large outter labia. My current bf made me feel so great about the fact that mine is different than those that I have see in movies and stuff that I wouldn't change it for anything!
