I'm relativley new to scarleteen so i don't know if someone has done a question like this before.
I was reading a newspaper article at the weekend about how the world population is getting bigger and heavier. It also mentioned how the image of the 'perfect body' is changing. i was wondering what everyone here would define the 'perfect body' as. Do u see stick thin girls as being perfect, or do you prefer a curvier figure? I would appreciate any views that people have on this as i intend to write an article for the school newspaper about the perfect body.
PS - I am also interested to find out just out of curiosity

A very good place to start your research for your paper would be at:
http://www.about-face.org, or with a book like Naomi Wolf's The Beauty Myth.
Resources like those can be helpful in giving you perspective on the fact that idealizations of body types changing is no recent phenomenon: those idealizations have always been mutable and constantly changing.

i think... there is no ONE perfect body... being that everyone has different opinions and preferences... i kinda think its like that Perfect Person, everyone has a Perfect Person for their individual selves.. but there isnt ONE perfect person.
there is perfect body for everyone... and they're all different... and this may sound corny and whatnot, but it really believe everyone has a perfect body fr themself, and everyone just has to learn to be happy "in their own skin" if you will.
i dunno... i cant say i have a perfect body, but for me it fits pretty well lol. i have learned to accept it and love it... and i wouldnt want to change it for anything. every scar has a story and a memory... it makes who i am.
LOL i sound so sappy... argh lol
dont worrie, b happie!!!! it's all good (...i suppose)
Dont interrupt me when i'm talking to myself!

But some peoples opinions, dear, is that there IS no "one perfect body" when it comes to an ideal or lookism.
If you're open to opinions, you need to be aware that that is one opinion.

The perfect body is exactly who you are. You are unique and perfect because you are you

I have to admit that the response i recieved was surprising. I thought the opinion of a perfect body would be different from the response that i got, although i did not get very many.
Thanks for this, it has been interesting to find out your opinions, and has also proved me wrong.

I also happen to think that there isn't one perfect body.
I think the perfect body is the one you live, as long as you're happy and healthy. I bet you have your own perfect body, and I know I've got a pretty good one too.

I agree with cutiepie and shortstuff. My sister said to me "I'd want your body but I'd want bigger boobs" I replied "I don't want bigger boobs, I'm happy with my body the way it is, everything seems to fit." Im quite thin but curvy and my grandma says I have the "perfect figure" but since there is no such thing (cuse nobody is perfect) I just have the right figure for me.

The perfect body holds the perfect mind.
Seriously...an intelligent, interesting person is more attractive to me than a dumbass who also happens to be a supermodel.

I agree with CutiePie4eva; i believe there is no perfect body. We're all beautiful inside us, our inner beauty, the personality that is i'm talking about
