Hello all! You may not remember me. I rarely post anything. But I do look through here a lot. Well, I felt like posting today. When I first came here, I felt lonely, and scared, and confused, and I just wanted to talk to someone. I was having trouble with my sexuality, and accepting myself. I was afraid my folks would kick me out, and disown me. And I was also afraid because, I had never felt that way before, and I didn’t know what to do. So, for a little while, I kept it all inside. And then I found this place, where people were understanding, and helpful, and seemed to care about what I had to say. I talked with people, and they gave me great advice, and links to helpful sites and things. I finally had a place to pour out my feelings, and it felt SO good lolz Since then, I’ve come out to my close friends, and they were all like, “I knew it!” or, “So?” lolz I love my friends =) And now, about 20 minutes ago, my mom turned on Oprah, and there was this episode about a woman, who all her life, had realized she was lesbian, and she was afraid to tell her father because she was afraid he wouldn’t love her, and he was a strict Christian( like my folks). Finally one day, she broke down and told him everything. Her father couldn’t have been more proud of her in that moment, and she said he just hugged her, and told her how much he loved her, and would never stop. And I’m not sure if it was the daughter’s fear of not being loved, or the fact that her Christian father accepted her for who she was, but something got through to my mom. After the show, she turned to me and said “ Hun, if you were to ever come to me and say that you were lesbian, just know that I would never stop loving you.” That was probably the happiest moment of my life! I was thrilled that she’d said what she said, because it erased many of the fears I had. My dad hasn’t come around yet, but I’m really hoping he will soon. So, now I know for a fact that I can tell my parents, or at least my mom, about me. And I’m not afraid of being unloved, or kicked out anymore. I haven't told them yet, but I will soon. And I wanted to just say thanks to you guys, for helping me, and giving me such great advice, and talking to me when I needed it.

That is just, hands-down, the super-duper stuff of awesome. I'm so glad you're feeling better lately, that your friends have been so supportive, and that you're now able to feel confident that at least one member of your family will be. So glad we were able to help, and thanks so much for such a lovely thank you!
