Many of you will not recognize me from the forums, I do not write often, but I do read, I read a lot. Reading on this forum has done something for me that is hard to explain, it has given me a feeling of guilt, but this guilt has helped me! It has given me a sense between what is write and wrong, the guilt that comes with this makes me feel like a bad person at times, and has compelled me to change. I was previously a regular at porn sites, after reading about porn on Scarleteen, I realized the truth about porn. Pornography is fake, actors playing their parts and making some money, its almost like prostitution. My solution to fixing my problem in this case... completely cutting off my porn sites, they are restricted and locked, i would have to spend at least 1 hour to unlock them, plus, I have the guilt holding me back! Other than porn, in school I am very perverted, the other day I was in a restaurant and someone said I need another tea-bag and I laughed, so I figured its time to change my mentality as well. This problem will be more difficult to solve, I will just have to stop thinking about sex all the time, but once again, the guilt will help me through! Generally, I am a very nice person, my friends all except me for the person I am, but I feel I can clean myself up, my problem with girls and crazy obsessions can come to a stop, and its all thanks to you Scarleteen, thank you so much, keep it up! If you check around the boards, you'll find that there are people with a range of different views about porn here. We have an article you might find helpful:Looking, Lusting and Learning: A Straightforward Look at Pornography There are some very real reasons to be concerned about the mainstream porn industry, as you'll have read on the boards - it often exploits and mistreats the actors in it, and presents misogynist views of women and misleading views of sex. So it's totally valid if you decide you don't want to participate in or support that, and locking off your porn sites seems like an effective strategy.Other than porn, in school I am very perverted, the other day I was in a restaurant and someone said I need another tea-bag and I laughed, so I figured its time to change my mentality as well. Well, taking something as innuendo or laughing at dirty jokes is not that rare or evil . It can be a bit childish or boring, but unless you're using it to insult or hurt other people, there's nothing "wrong" with it. It's cool that you're making your own choices about what you want in your life, and you're right that obsessing about anything can be a bad move. But you don't need to run to the other extreme either - there's nothing "bad" or "perverted" about thinking about sex, having sexual desires or being aroused by sexual material.

About the porn, I know it's not rare for men to visit pornographic sites, but it just makes me feel bad, thats my main reason for stoping. About being perverted, I just don't want to sound like a pervert, I think people are turned off by someone who see's sex in everything they hear. I am not trying to go to other extreme, I just want to change for the better, I'm not cutting off sex at all, Im not a monk! I just want to be a cleaner person.

but it just makes me feel bad, thats my main reason for stoping. Then it's a smart move. Really, stopping anything that's making you feel lousy about yourself is a good move .I think people are turned off by someone who see's sex in everything they hear. That can certainly be true - some people may be offended, and others may think it's just boring or juvenile if someone's making sex jokes all the times. I'm not dissing your choices - I just wanted to check that wanting to be a "cleaner person" doesn't mean that you're assuming that sexuality in general is "dirty".
