Hi! I've been checking this forum for a few days now and I really think this is the best place for me to get an early opinion... I'm 19 years old and on June 26th, this guy I've been seeing for a while and me had sex. He wore a condom (I'm NOT on birth control) and I really do not think it broke or slipped, but he came inside me. Before hand...I gave him a handjob--he came, which I heard actually lowers the sperm count for a while after...I don't know if this is true or not. Anyways...as of July 2nd, I had spotting, six days after which I read could be a sign of implantation. However, spotting between periods is not too unusual for me... I should have gotten my period this weekend sometime, but I have not (although I'm not always completely regular)...what do you think the chances are of me being pregnant are? Or do you think this could be a menstrual change? Please help. I'm rather terrified.

Condoms are 98% effective with perfect use, and 85% effective with typical use. If you used it throughout all genital-to-genital contact and it didn't break you should be near the perfect use rate. Check out this article which explains the different use rates better, and how to use a condom properly: Condoms If you are already late for your period, you can take a pregnancy test now and it should be accurate, then you can know for sure rather than trying to guess. Here's some other articles I think might help:M.I.A or, Dude, Where's My Period? The Buddy System: Effectiveness Rates for Backing Up Your Birth Control With a Second Method

Thank you for the links. Do you think you could help me out what the spotting could mean OTHER than implantation?

Spotting could mean any number of things. Implantation bleeding is not terribly common. While it's relatively rare, some women spot with ovulation. Others just spot mid-cycle for no obvious reason. It just happens sometimes. If this is something that commonly happens for you, then you might want to ask your gynecologist about it. While it probably is not an issue to worry about, they might be able to give you a better idea based on your specific medical history and an exam.
