Hi everyone... I'm prone to worrying about things that are statistically impossible and it seems like my current concern is an unwanted pregnancy. I am on the pill and am mostly responsible about taking them on time (and when I don't I take 2 the next day) and last had my period from May 1-7 (regular length and amount of bleeding.) My boyfriend and I did have unprotected sex (condom broke) on April 7th but he didn't ejaculate inside of me. We then had protected vaginal intercourse on the 23rd of April without him ejaculating inside me again. Even with all these protective measures, I'm still very much freaked out about this.
I've also had some symptoms, but I tend to give myself psychosomatic symptoms of whatever I'm stressing out about. These are slight bloating, occasional cramps, and very intermittent breast tenderness. I also feel somewhat nauseous, but I feel this nausea more in my throat than in my stomach so I'm pretty sure that's psychosomatic as well. I have not yet taken a pregnancy test, but I have one and am waiting until 2 days before the start of my next expected period (should come may 29th) to take it. If I am pregnant, The only option for me is abortion really- but I'd like to be able to tell my mom about it and have her there to help me. She's pretty liberal sexually but I haven't told her my boyfriend and I are sexually active yet, so asking her for abortion help would be very awkward. Just in case, how would I go about telling her that I need an abortion and also convincing her not to tell my jerk of a dad who hates me? Thank you for your advice!

Oh, just a quick add- my boyfriend and I have not had any type of sexual contact since the 23rd of April.

So your last period happened well after your last potential risk, is that right? If so, you're not pregnant - you can't have a period (or the withdrawal bleed you get on the pill) and be pregnant. If you still want to take a pregnancy test, you don't need to wait to take it; pregnancy tests are accurate as soon as 10-14 days after a possible risk, and it's been much longer than that since your last potential risk, so you can go ahead and take it now if you like.

Thanks for your help... I know it's impossible for me to be pregnant but I'm still freaking like mad. I just want to be able to calm down and look at my situation from a realistic point of view but I have trouble doing that.

I see from your signature that you're a fan of rational thinking and facts. So I'm going to give you a link to our article that explains how pregnancy happens, and from that you should be able to understand why you can't be pregnant.
