Hello everyone at Scarleteen! I found this articles on the internet and some questions popped in my mind.

I first read this

and then the response by one of other the writers of the magazine:

First of all, my question is: Is it ok to express about sex like the authors do?
Do you think theyre being objective? would you trust an article like these?

I find really interesting how sex is no longer a taboo (not everywhere or with everyone) but with time things change, also how do you feel as readers when seeing this type of opinions?

I think saying sex and sexuality are no longer taboo is deeply optimistic: think about how many places still have no sex ed, and how hard the resistance is to even basic information about sex and sexuality, for instance.

For sure, some things aren't taboo that once were, but as someone who studies a lot of sexual history, I'd say that for the most part, that's no more true now than it was 100 years ago with many aspects of sex and sexuality.

I'm not sure what you mean when you ask if these kinds of discussions on that website are okay: okay with whom?

Would I trust articles at a website like that? No. Especially since right in them, I'm seeing clear misinformation. Do I think they're being objective? Ummm, no, clearly not. Do you?
