So, there's this new TV network here called "Slice", and I like some of their shows, so I went to their website and was reading this (rather amusing) article on what to call some common "fashion faux pas" that people tend to make. Then I got to one called "Tiger Stripes", which was what some people, apparently, call stretch marks. Now, yes, I know, "Tiger Stripes" sounds pretty cool as far as names for stretch marks go, but, as a girl with her fair share of stretch marks (if not more), I was rather offended that they were listed as a "fashion faux pas". It's not like I picked them out. I don't wake up in the morning and go "What'll I wear today? How about a t-shirt, jeans, and some stretch marks!" Am I being too touchy about this, or is it something that I should be offended by?

I wouldn't let it bother you, really. Ultimately (like everything else in that industry) it's based on opinion, and your opinion does not happen to match. That's okay, too. [Smile]

I'm offended too...I have stretch marks, not * a lot * but they're definately there.
I used to be really self concious about them...thinking they made it look like I was fat or whatever else. but my boyfriend assures me that they are not a bad thing. In fact he rather likes the ones on my breasts because they show that I've been growing [Razz]
Basically. I would suggest being offended for like...2 seconds max and then move on =]

A TV station shouldn't be able to define good and bad things about people. So why let them?
