I really want to be a standup comedian. I have the material and I have a friend who wants the same thing, but I have a problem. I can't find any comedy clubs to perform at. Does anyone here have any experience with stand-up comedy? If so, are you paid? And is ther an age limit? Thanks

I've never been a stand-up comedian, but I do know one thing. If you are under the age of 18, there is something called labor laws, which enforces children not to work long hours. So if you want to be paid proffesionally, and you are over the age of 18, go ahead, knock yourself out.

Ok, but would comedy clubs allow me to perform there for free?

That's going to depend on the club, and you're going to have to call them to find out.

In my neck of the woods, it's only those over 18 who are allowed onstage, but they do offer amateur nights where folks can come up and try their hand. So if you were here, you'd be SOL in terms of the age thing, but at least you'd have a chance at doing it free when your time came.
