Well my mother doesnt know that i am having sex and if she did she would totally flip out on me so should i go the health department with my sister the same place wherre i got my birth control pills??..
question 2... I seem to be getting yeast infections all the time now i use the anti itch cream Vagisil and i wash daily but this is getting to the point where the only way i can stop it from itching is putting the cream on and changing my underware a few times a day is there anyway i can get rid of this quicker...and do yeast infections only come from having sex??

Yo, Rose. Top of the page, on the right, there's something there that says "search." Click on it. Type in "yeast Infections" and see what you get. OR... go to the first page of this whole site -- plain old www.scarleteen.com -- and look at the FBI FILES feature. You'll find everything you want to know about yeast infections right there.

If you've never been diagnosed with or treated for a yeast infection before, YES, you do need to go to an MD. The clinic where you got your pills should be fine. Vagisil will NOT clear up the infection. You need an antifungal for that. Go see a doctor. And since you CAN get yeast infections without having had sex, why nto just tell your mother and get her to take you to a gynecologist so you can get a thorough exam, hm?

By the way: as far as we're concerned here at Scarleteen, it's always better to be open with your parents if you possibly can. Lying's not cool.

Hold your horses, honey.

Just because yeast infections aren't a *symptom* of pregnancy doesn't mean you might not be pregnant.

It's like saying that headaches aren't a symptom of a broken leg -- you CAN have a broken leg *and* a headache.

If you're concerned that you might be pregnant, GO GET A PREGNANCY TEST.

While you have sex with your partner, do you use a condom? I read that you use birth control pills. Do you use both or just the birth conrol pills?

To a Sexpert: I thought that if your on birth conrol pills you cant get pregnate cuz your body already thinks your pregs. Unless you use them wrong (like if you missed a day) it will make you more fertal. Is this true or did I get my info mixed up??

Birth control pills, taken correctly, are very good at preventing pregnancy. However, many people have occasional slip-ups in when and how they take the Pill. People forget, people make mistakes. Not taking your birth control pills as directed can reduce their effectiveness in preventing pregnancy.

Birth control pills do NOT prevent STDs, including HIV infection. For that reason, we here at Scarleteen recommend that even if you are on the Pill, you ALSO use a condom.

Using a condom with the Pill is also about the best, most reliable birth control you can find. If you can kill two birds with one stone, gosh, why wouldn't you?

Miz Scarlet posted something the other day that said pre-ejaculation had about 60,000 sperm in it. And ejaculation had about 500 millon or even more sperm (I hope I got the right numbers) anyways, that number is still pretty high, and it takes just one little spermy as Miz S always says.

Rose, if you are taking your pills according to the directions you received with the Pill, you should be okay as far as pregnancy goes. You might want to get a test to be on the safe side.

However, it DOES sound like you may have a yeast infection. And since you had unprotected sex, it's a good idea for you AND your boyfriend to get checked out for that. Men can harbor yeast infections in their urethras and never know it, and then transmit those infections to women if they have unprotected sex. It's not real common, but it has been known to happen. It's pretty easy to cure, and the test is simple, so I'd recommend that you look into getting that done for both of you.
