My baby sister (she's newly 11) just called me to tell me she got her period. She's very excited about it, which makes me laugh because I was the very opposite: very secretive and embarrassed. I'm thinking of sending her a care package to celebrate. Does anyone have ideas about what I should put into it? Obviously chocolate and pads, but what else? [Smile]

That's fabulous that your sister is excited!

What a lovely idea to send her a care package. If she likes to read, books or magazines can be a nice addition to any care package.

Basically, I'd suggest anything that she enjoys, anything that will make her feel cared for or pampered.

maybe some nice bath products or lotions, or even some new underwear to wear when her period is over. I know I always love new panties! [Razz]

Per books, the book "Period." is a pretty awesome one for that age group.

Also, Lunapads makes a really nice booklet a few of us were part of the making-of for periods: http://lunapads.com/teen-booklet.html

They also have wonderful washable pads, including starter sets.
