Hello. I'm just hoping you can help me out here.
I have a guy friend and we've been friends since like 5 years now. We're family friends also and I've always been around for him. There were phases when we lost all touch, dint talk at all, and then there were phases when we became so close. He has quite a lot of other friends from other schools, but there's something going on with him. He has no really close friends in his own school. Our schools are a street opposite from each other ad we're referred to as 'brother-sister' schools. He's told some people that I'm his only true friend, and yet, he's not telling me what's happened. The thing is i value his privacy and I know there are things that you're not ready to talk about yet. But i'm really worried now. He doesn't like sentimental things and recently, I feel we're starting drift away again. I wish we could have a chance of like a heart-to-heart and he could tell his problems. is there any chance I can help him? I feel he thinks that I wont understand.

Have you just let him know that if and when he DOES want to talk, he can call on you anytime and you'll be there?

And perhaps also said that, whatever it is, you may NOT understand, but that while you can't promise you can understand what he's gone or is going through, you CAN assure him you can listen, and be supportive even if you don't understand?
