Hi, I'm not really sure what options I have right now, and mostly I'm just looking for a place to vent about what's been going on.

My requests for another year of my protection order keeps getting appealed by the guy who assaulted me. It just makes me so mad that I have to defend my case that yes, he is dangerous, and yes, I do need protection, when his attacks last year left me with visible scars and hospital visits year and I have recorded threats from the last few weeks (not that people who don't have these things don't deserve PPOs too). I don't need them entertaining his appeals anymore when every time an appeal goes through, his threats elevate. It is just so insanely stupid, I can't even imagine what they are trying to do or whose "rights" they are trying to protect.

Luckily it hopefully won't be going on for much longer; the guy's getting deployed soon, and as much as I truly don't want to subject any of his innocent comrades or any Afghan women to him and I am scared for what he may do over there, I do feel relieved that he'll be gone soon.

For those who may be concerned, I am in a safe place right now and I've been in contact with a domestic abuse shelter that's been helping me stay safer.

Thanks for reading. I just really needed to vent. [Smile]

I certainly think you have every right to feel frustrated and angry about that: I agree, having to defend your right to legal protection from someone who has done you harm isn't something anyone should have to do. [Frown]

I'm really glad to hear you're safe now, though, and have gotten connected with a shelter and other DV services.
