The thread Ray started made me think of this as a kind of flip-side and companion.

Abusive people use a lot of things as excuses: in the other thread, it's about using their own illness or condition to "excuse" their behaviour. What about people who use Our illness or condition (or sometimes even a supposed illness, like telling us we're "crazy") as an excuse?

Ever had an experience where someone was abusive and "justified" their behaviour because of your own illness/condition/impairment/disability?

(I broadened this because although there may be some differences in the experiences, I think there may be more in common, and I can't think of any downside to including more experiences.)

The kyriarchy usually assumes that I am the kind of woman of whom it would approve. I have a peculiar kind of fun showing it just how much I am not.
