My partner is worried that his build up of smegma might harm me. I gave him oral last night, and I was wondering if it would have any effect on my throat or mouth. It was dark so I didn't have a good chance to take a look, but he said he had two showers and cleaned up.

He has never had penetrative sex, if that makes any difference.

As long as he cleans under his foreskin regularly, there shouldn't really be any significant amount of smegma there in the first place, and it's not harmful to you regardless. Oral sex does carry a risk of STIs, however, so even if he's never had penetrative sex it would be a good idea for both of you to get up-to-date with your testing, if you aren't already.
