Hey and sorry a if this is TMI but my bf and I tried anal sex the other day. It was a little bit uncomfortable at first but then it felt good. But after he came and pulled out his penis was a little... messy. It really grossed both of us out and ruined what was otherwise fun sex. So would an enema help next time? I tried to go poo before we had sex but I just had to pee.

I'm going to link you to some of our articles on anal sex, that you can read together with your your partner.

The short answer is that all sorts of bodily fluids are involved in sex of all kinds, from sweat to blood to sperm, and to a certain extent you have to learn to become comfortable with that. Traces of fecal matter (which is really all we're talking about here) shouldn't be a big deal if everyone involved is comfortable with bodies and the way they work.

To reduce the "mess", it's a good idea to use condoms. With anal sex, condoms are super important anyway, both to make things more comfortable for the receptive partner, but also because anal sex has a high risk for STI transmission.

If you want to look into using enemas anyway, check out this article:
