My boyfriend and I had intercourse a few days ago. It wasn't particularly rough or anything, though we did try a new position, which I suspect had something to do with what happened next.

Later that day, I noticed that one side of my labia was really, really sore. It was swollen and incredibly sensitive to the touch. I did what I could to alleviate it--wore lose underwear and pants, sat with my legs apart as much as I could, minimized moving around--and everything was back to normal the next morning.

When it was bad, though, I had a thought: could I put an ice pack (obviously wrapped in a hand towel or just over my clothing) over that area since ice helps bring swelling down? I suspect the answer is yes, but I'd like to check with people more likely to know before I have need of it if there's a next time.

Thanks in advance for the help! [Smile]

By all means, applying ice to genitals to reduce swelling is absolutely something you can do, just like with swelling to any other body part.
