Hypothetical question! If you have unprotected sex the day before you are supposed to start your period, and the next day you still have your period, is there still a way that you have conceived? Can you have just gotten pregnant, but still have your period?

That is just something that I've wondered about before, so I thought I'd ask here [Smile]

HI Kabith,

Hypothetically, that is possible. It's not the most likely thing in the world, but since all kinds of things are possible with the body, could happen.

It's also worth remembering that sometimes fertilization happens, but implantation doesn't occur so the pregnancy doesn't actually begin. This isn't particularly useful for someone who is trying *not* to get pregnant, I just thought I'd mention that all kinds of things can happen when we're talking about reproduction.
