Hi all,

Yesterday and today my clitoris has been sore, red, itchy and swollen (there seems to be extra folds of skin and it looks bigger than it normally does).

Also the skin around the clitoris is red and I think the labia majora/minora are also red and inflammed.

I had sex on the 14th and then the 15th, both times with condoms, although I'm not sure how clean the guys hands were when they were touching my clitoris and fingering me.

I also had sex on Saturday night, which perhaps wasn't the best idea given, the area was already a little bit itchy.

Just wondering if anyone knows what this could be? Should I just hope it goes away or try to make a doctor's appointment.

Thanks for your time.

Making a doctor's appointment would be a good idea: it could be a yeast infection or an allergic reaction to something, or just some irritation, but it's always a good idea to get this kind of thing checked out. Do you need help finding a healthcare provider you can see?

(Also, as you've already figured out, having sex when you've got any sort of genital irritation going on is not a great idea. So, until you have this sorted, avoid genital sex of any kind, and go easy on that delicate tissue: loose cotton underwear is best, and if you can find it, a bit of pure aloe vera gel can help soothe the itching.)

Thanks Karybu.

I'll make an appointment; I'm really hoping the doctor can suggest some effective treatment as the discomfort means I can't exercise and general walking around/sometimes even sitting can be uncomfortable.
