Please help me out here. I've looked all over the internet and I'm not really comfortable talking about this.

I'm 18, in college, and a perfect user of birth control (on it for a little over a month now). My boyfriend and I have been dating for almost six months and have been progressing in our sexual activity over the last couple of months. We haven't had actual intercourse yet, but we've had unprotected manual and oral sex several times. We're each other's first relationships, we nigh always had clean hands and mouths, and naked genitals have never come into contact (one of us always has underwear on at any given time).

A few days ago, he fingered me pretty forcefully and I bled a bit. It hurt for a couple days, but now I have this weird brownish white thin discharge with pieces of mucous or tissue or something in my vagina. I'm getting worried.

Is it an infection? A scratch? Something weird with my birth control? Please help.

Thanks so much.

It's hard for us to make any predictions from over here. But in general, unusual discharge is something you will want to have a doctor take a look at, just to be safe.

That would be considered unusual, then? It smells a bit, but I'm not sure what I would compare it to.

Unusual discharge just means anything you feel is different from your usual discharge. If there's anything that seems different about your own unique body's discharge, it's always a sound idea to have it checked out by a doctor.
