It's not unusual for the texture and color of your discharge to change to an extent throughout your cycle. For example, during certain times the discharge may be drier or appear more white than clear. However, if it's looking different than what you have ever noticed before, you may want to get it checked out. Especially since you're noticing painful bumps, your best bet is to head to your health care provider to get it checked out.

It's possible to get pimples or cysts on your genitals, just the way you can anywhere else. However, if you've noticed this for more than a couple of days and/or they keep coming back, it's time to get checked out. You want to make sure it's not an STI or some other type of skin infection. In general, when something hurts we want to get it looked at.
